Females represent 52% of the population, 48% are males, females have higher representation (slightly) than in either Australian or the Melbourne Statistical Division (MSD) which both have 51% females.Age

The most common country of birth (outside of Australia) remains England (3.40%) followed by Greece (2.10%). The other most common countries of birth for Stonnington residents were New Zealand 2.10%, China 1.90% and India 1.70%. The Catholic religion remains the most prominent 21.30%, no religion 20.90% and Anglican 16.90%. The median individual $726, household $1,346 and family incomes $2,014 were all well above the MSD and Australia weekly averages. The median weekly rent $245 and housing loan payments $1,900 were also above MSD and Australia. MSD medians were $200 rental per week and $1,300 loan repayment per month. Only 29.10% of dwellings are fully owned in Stonnington, with another 21.70% being purchased, this compared with MSD 33.10% and 34.60% and Australia 32.60% and 32.20% respectively. Como has a captured audience of residents and commercial office staff who work and/or live within the complex. It also forms part of the cosmopolitan shopping experience of the Chapel Street, Toorak Rd and Commercial Rd broader retail precinct. However, through its product mix, Como is uniquely positioned at the upper-end of that precinct’s market and this is reflected in the customer profile.
